So I'm in new-york. Ain't easy @ all as the weekend is ova and I'm trying to fetch the energies again. The jet-lag is still kicking so I can't sleep more than 4 hrs a night, and I have no real intention to try and sleep during the day. I mean it's new-york. sleeping can be postponed to a futuristic unknown date. let's say 2012, when the world is over anyway…
So before I forget my name, I must add a short list of the things I liked till now here
Cafe Gitane - it's hard to find decent espresso in NY. When my machiato comes with the most beautiful waitresses all dressed like a 70's Italian movie stars - well, that's heaven on earth. Usually the macchiatos in this town arrives in the size of soup bowl - ichs… Italian/french design. coffee - excellent. food - amazing, a bit pricey but not too much…
Grey Dog's coffee - I've tried the new location (thanks Liz for taking me) @ 12th and University. My coffee wasn't that amazing, but food is delicious, they got everything from Diner food to organic shit, the place is very east-village-yet-not-too-snobbish-design, with really cute staff. prices are fine, location great (two minutes from Union square) and sitting there when it's raining outside with your book or a friend's cousin is a good option for breakfast.
Eating Pho @ korea-town - in mid-town, 32nd st, there are lots of Koren places. Korean BBQ is highly recommended, but you need a Korean friend if you want to have the best and know what to order. Pho is easier - it's a HUGE bowl of noodle soup with fresh vegetables and a chicken/pork/seafood/whateva vegetarian - very tasty, light to digest and cost less then 10$. my stomach was thanking me and I tipped back the place. if you are less pig than I am you eat half, and take the rest home for later.

Union pool bar in Williamsburg, brooklyn - very cool. there's inside, outside and another room for live shows. DJ was awsome with my kinda music, toilets are beautiful, I got huge glasses of whiskey in 5$ (!). very easy to get there if ur in town - L train, second stop after you are out of manhatten (Lorimer stop), right there. not to be missed.
Bliss cafe in Williamsburg - vegan place, nice to sit in the rain with newspaper. DO NOT take the fake sausage. I wouldn't give my dog that shit.
Another place on Bedford avenue (hipster land in Williamsburg, brooklyn) is the Verb cafe. It's my fav for the last few years. If you need to choose only one, that's my place. There's a tiny mall next to it with good DJ/Music shops, really good bookstore with art books you would waste your time on looking in and out, and they always have free amazing newspapers you can read or take for later. Coffee is great, bagel is bagel, and ppl are the coolest you'd find (all pose as if they work on their current poem-book) - I guess it's the closest thing you can find to what the east village was many years ago…
OK. I'm too tired to write about MJ's bday party, the pool party with live shows, the grounded cafe, the Mei-bar, the Korean fast-food, Spices restaurant, lofts on Broadway, an alt party on some industrial artsy place in Brooklyn and AJ's whole-wheat pancakes. I'll try to catch up later with this list…(and they call me thirst person?!)
